Kerry homeowners are less compliant than the national average when it comes to paying the Local Property Tax.
So far this year, 95.5% of people in Kerry have paid the tax; the national average is 97%.
Figures from the Revenue Commissioners show that as of the end September, €353 million has been collected across the country in Local Property Tax.
There’s an average 97% compliance rate nationally, however Kerry has a slightly lower rate at 95.5%.
A total of €12.8 million in Local Property Tax has been gathered in Kerry so far this year from some 67,300 properties.
Property owners can voluntarily opt to pay their Local Property Tax by deduction at source from salary or occupational pension, but for people who fail to pay, mandatory deduction is imposed.
Nationally this year, 80,000 homeowners had the LPT deducted at source from their salary or occupational pension; 2.7% of those people are in Kerry.
