A Kerry guidance counsellor has warned against Leaving Cert students rejecting their first round CAO offer in the hope that they’ll get the course of their choice in the second round.
Niamh Dwyer is PRO for the Kerry Branch of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors.
She says with the increase in points, there’s no guarantee that students disappointed by their first round offer will get their course of choice in the second CAO round which will be made on Wednesday week, August 26th.
Students have until this day week, August 24th at 5.15pm to accept their first round offer.
Niamh Dwyer says students should consider accepting their first round offer and if they get a better offer in the second round, they can then accept that.
