Kerry Group says it is important to have secured 800 jobs in Ireland.
The global company, which has its headquarters in Tralee, today officially opened its Kerry Global Technology and Innovation Centre. Taoiseach Enda Kenny officially opened the development on a 28 acre site in the Millennium Business Park in Naas, Co Kildare. 800 people are employed at the plant which has a customer base of companies across the world.
There had been some disappointment that a site in county Kerry was not chosen.
But Director of Corporate Affairs Frank Hayes says this is not a manufacturing facility and the Naas site beat off competition from other sites including London and Amsterdam:
