« BackKerry Fire Service incidents fall by 10 per cent in first eight months

The number of incidents dealt with by Kerry Fire Service in the first eight months of the year has fallen by almost ten per cent compared to the same period in 2015.

Figures provided to the Tralee Municipal District meeting show the service attended 666 incidents up to the end of August this year; down from 739 in 2015.

There were 369 fires in that time, 79 of which were chimney fires.

The number of gorse fire callouts has also dropped from 211 to 146.
