The Fianna Fáil TD for Kerry is seeking clarification from his parliamentary party on their position on Irish Water and water charges.
Deputy John Brassil says he supports the abolition of the water utility – which as far as he knew was the same as that of his party’s.
Fianna Fáil TD John Brassil says if Irish Water were abolished, local authorities could be put back in control of water services with an overall national body, along the lines of the National Roads Authority, at the helm.
Deputy Brassil says he believed his parliamentary party also held this position.
He says he’s seeking clarification following a meeting with an anti-water charge group today.
