« BackKerry farmer shortlisted in Bord Bia Origin Green Farmer Awards

thomas-cullotyA Kerry farmer has been shortlisted for the first-ever Bord Bia Origin Green Farmer Awards.

Thomas Culloty who is a farmer from outside Tralee is among the dairy nominees; he manages a herd of 60 cows over 55 hectares and supplies to Lee Strand Co-op.

The awards, across the dairy and beef sectors, recognise farmers’ exceptional performance in improving sustainability.

Origin Green is the world’s first national programme to address climate change and the broader sustainability challenges in food and agriculture.

The overall winning producers will be announced at an awards ceremony on Friday, 21st October.
