A sheep farmer was charged before Kenmare District Court with possessing a fire arm and threatening to kill or harm two Gardai.
Both charges relate to an incident on the accused man’s farm near Moll’s Gap on January 16th last.
47 year old John Joe Kissane of Eirk, Muckross, Killarney was charged with two separate counts of possessing a fire arm namely a Winchester .270 rifle with intent to kill or cause serious harm to Kenmare Gardai Garda Denis O’Brien and Garda Sean O’Regan.
He was charged under Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
Mr Kissane replied “No” to both charges.
Acting for Mr Kissane Solicitor Padraig O’Connell applied for bail which was granted on a bond of 1,000 euro subject to a number of conditions.
The case was adjourned to November 6th at Kenmare District Court for the service of a book of evidence.
