« BackKerry famine memorial gathering to show solidarity with refugees

The Irish group calling for solidarity with refugees says over 12,000 people in this country have offered to open their homes to asylum seekers.

‘Uplift Ireland’ is challenging Enda Kenny to now match that total.

The Justice Minister indicated Ireland would take around 1,800 refugees, but campaigners say that’s not enough.

A number of gatherings are taking place at famine memorial around the country today, including a gathering at God’s Acre in Tralee at 1pm.
