The holders of the Killorglin Lotto jackpot ticket have collected their winnings at National Lottery headquarters.
This family syndicate of two from the county, who wish to remain private, came forward to claim their €2.26 million last evening.
They shared Saturday’s Lotto jackpot of €4.5 million with a ticket bought in Letterkenny, Co Donegal; that ticketholder has yet to come forward.
The lucky Kerry duo said it must have been fate, because when they were on their way to XL Hannah Mary’s Country Store in Tullig, Killorglin to play the Lotto a black cat ran in front of the car.
They say they’ll take timeout to get used to their newfound wealth.
Also in Saturday night’s draw, a Quick Pick ticket sold at Moloney’s Newsagents, Listowel won almost €182,000 after matching five numbers and the bonus; the ticketholder has yet to claim their winnings.
