« BackKerry ETB radio broadcast student wins international award

A student of radio broadcasting at the Kerry ETB Training Centre has won an international award.

Tralee woman Gráinne McPolin has won the 2016 Clarion International Radio Award for a documentary about her experience of working in Saudi Arabia.

She and colleague, documentary maker, Ronan Kelly, were announced as winners at a ceremony in California for their production, ‘Saudi Dreams of a Camper Van.’

For more than 40 years, the Clarion Awards have honoured global excellence in journalism and broadcasting.

Gráinne’s course in radio broadcasting is delivered by Radio Kerry in its studios in Tralee.

Acting manager of Radio Kerry Training, Shane O’Connor, has congratulated Gráinne.

Shane says she’s a fantastic worker who’s always on the trail of a story that needs to be told.
