The Diocese of Kerry is considering how individual parishes and the diocese as a whole can most usefully respond to the refugee crisis.
A spokesperson for the diocese has welcomed the Pope’s statement and his request to take refugee families into our parishes.
The spokesperson says it will take some time for definite proposals to address the crisis to emerge and the plight of the migrants seeking to escape North Africa into Europe demands compassion.
The Diocese of Kerry will proceed in conjunction with the other dioceses of Ireland and the actions of the government and other charities.
It encourages people to be generous in donating to Trócaire and other charities giving practical help to all the people involved.
