« BackKerry County Council honour FEXCO founder at civic reception

Brian McCarthy FEXCO at KCCWhen FEXCO founder Brian McCarthy first came to Puck Fair in 1974 the thought occurred to him, Killorglin could be quiet in the winter.

Mr McCarthy was speaking before Kerry County Council today where he was received at a special civic reception.

The company now employs 2,000 people in Ireland and across the globe, retaining its headquarters in Killorglin.

 

Speaking at the civic reception, Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council Micheal O’Shea said Mr McCarthy was an example of a remarkable success story.

Council CEO Moira Murrell said Brian McCarthy shows us what is achievable –  “not in Dubai, not in New York, but in here Kerry”.

She also thanked him for sustaining so many families in the region.

Councillors paid tribute to the work of Mr McCarthy who said it was an honour to be received at Kerry County Council.
