A Kerry County Councillor says Tralee should be included in plans to expand the gas pipeline into the county.
Gas Networks Ireland are to extend the network from Foynes to Listowel costing 20 million euro.
This will firstly service the Kerry Group plant and in the coming years gas will be available to residents and businesses.
Sinn Fein Cllr Daly believes it will not have the capability to extend beyond Listowel due to the type of pipe being used.
Gas Networks says that it is currently not economically viable to link up to Tralee.
Cllr Daly says the county town needs this type of fuel and a long term plan should be considered when laying these pipes:
