« BackKerry councillor says invasive species can be used in jams and tarts

A Kerry County Councillor has suggested that an invasive species of plant in the county can be used in cooking.

The spread of the invasive species Japanese Knotweed has been raised on numerous occasions in the council and 100,000 euro has been ring fenced to help eradicate it.

Fianna Fail Councillor John Joe Culloty got the idea to use the plant in tarts and jams at a conference recently in Caherdaniel focused on Japanese Knotweed:
