« BackKerry Councillor says economic mismanagement law should be introduced

Brendan Cronin 1A Kerry County Councillor says there should an economic mismanagement law introduced by the government.

Independent Councillor Brendan Cronin was speaking after three former banking executives were sentenced on Friday to prison terms ranging from two years to three-and-a half-years, for conspiracy to defraud the public about the state of Anglo Irish Bank in 2008.

Former Anglo executives Willie McAteer and John Bowe, and Irish Life and Permanent’s former CEO Denis Casey were convicted last month for their parts in a scheme that made Anglo Irish Bank seem €7.2 billion stronger than it actually was.

Kerry Councillor Brendan Cronin say a law needs to be put in place to stop this ever happening again.
