Kerry Airport has been allocated over 200,000 euro in grant funding.
Fine Gael Kerry Deputy Brendan Griffin has welcomed the announcement.
The announcement by Transport Minister Shane Ross is a total allocation of 2.7 million euro for regional airports.
1.3 million euro of that is going to Ireland West Airport, Knock.
Kerry Airport has got the smallest allocation at 205,000 euro.
The Farranfore base will use the grant money towards upgrading CCTV, extending the intruder alarm, repairing the perimeter road, fire alarm and joint sealing of the runway.
Funding will also be allocated for a runway sweeper and tractor and aircraft stairs.
However funding for a thermal image camera to locate a fire from outside a building or aircraft was not granted.
