Kerry County Council has been urged to help in relocating a shipwreck on Rossbeigh Strand.
The Sunbeam schooner wreck was dislodged in storms in 2014 and ended up on a sand dune.
A meeting last year agreed to bury the structure again in the sand.
The matter was raised by Cllr Michael Cahill at the South and West Kerry Municipal District meeting where he called on the council to help in the project before the shipwreck is washed away forever.
However, the local authority said responsibility for the wreck lies with the Department of Arts, relocation will run to a substantial cost and unless a dedicated funding source is identified the council will not be in a position to undertake the work.
