9,500 sandbags were distributed throughout the county by Kerry County Council over the weekend.
Director of Operations and Corporate Health & Safety at Kerry County Council Charlie O’Sullivan says areas that are prone to flooding and high risk areas were given sandbags.
Also many were made available to the general public.
Kerry County Council continues to monitor the weather situation and river levels as further rainfall is predicted in the coming days.
