The Justice Minister has indicated that Ireland will accept in the region of 18-hundred refugees.
It’s expected the EU will issue a proposal next week which will see 150-thousand extra refugees distributed across member states in response to the current crisis.

Frances Fitzgerald Minister for Justice
Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald says if this is the case, Ireland will take as many refugees as the EU directs, which could be around 18-hundred – three times the current pledge by the Irish Government.
The EU’s been under increasing pressure to act since images emerged showing the body of a 3-year-old Syrian boy, who drowned trying to get to Greece.
