« BackJunior Minister launches visitor initiatives at Derrynane House

Minister Seán Canney will be at Derrynane House this lunchtime to launch four visitor initiatives for Derrynane National Historic Park.

Derrynane House is the ancestral home of The Liberator, Daniel O’Connell, and now houses a museum dedicated to his life and achievements.
Minister Sean Canney is today launching the new Seashore Nature Trail, the 2016 ‘Discover Derrynane’ family activity weekend, a new website for Derrynane House, and the consultation process for the Draft Derrynane Conservation Management Plan.

The trail, which has been updated with new information, technology and site characteristics, aims to help visitors learn about the unique environment.

Minister Canney is encouraging people to make observations on the Draft Conservation Management Plan.

Welcoming the 2016 ‘Discover Derrynane’ weekend, Minister Canney said Derrynane is a discovery point on the Wild Atlantic Way and the range of activities and events planned show the importance the OPW places on community, heritage, and educational initiatives.
