The Institute of Technology Tralee has ambitious plans to grow and develop over the next four years.
That’s according to President of the Institute, Oliver Murphy, who was speaking at the recent conferrings.
IT Tralee aims to increase the number of students studying at the Institute by 21%, and increase the number of international fee paying students by 50%.
It also intends to expand the programmes offered through open and distance learning by 20%; and treble the number of postgraduate students at masters and PhD level.
10 new courses will be offered through the CAO next February, and 10 new part-time programmes are planned for January.
It’s identified the recruitment of international students as a key objective, and has developed a 4-year plan to develop the Canadian and wider North American, Japanese, South Korean, and Indian markets.
Next month the Institute will be submitting a planning application for the construction of a Sports Academy Building.
This €16million development will serve as the main headquarters for the Health and Leisure Department of the Institute.
