« BackIrish Water apologises after water becomes discoloured in mid-Kerry

Pic taken by Jerry O'Sullivan. Irish Water have apologised to customers in mid-Kerry whose water became discoloured.

Margaret Lynch, who lives outside Beaufort, contacted Radio Kerry about her and her neighbours’ water which had turned brown for several days.

Irish Water says this was as a result of a valve failing at the mid-Kerry water treatment plant.

The utility says the discolouration was caused by organic matter in the water.

Diane Carroll who is a Water Treatment Programme Specialist with Irish Water told Treasa Murphy the matter has now been resolved.
