The Irish Association of Suicidology is today hosting its annual conference in Killarney’s Brehon Hotel.
The theme of the conference ‘From Hope to Action: Intervention That Works’ will see a number of medical professionals and prominent speakers tackle issues concerning suicide in Ireland.
The conference was formally opened by Joan Freeman, founder of Pieta House and Darkness Into Light Initative and will run today and tomorrow.
Other speakers include Fionnbar Walsh, founder of #LiveLife and father of inspirational Tralee teenager Dónal Walsh who advocated young people seek help for their mental health issues.
Ned Brosnan, Kerry GAA Mental Health Office and Jimmy Mulligan of Kerry GAA Health & Wellbeing Committee, will also speak.
