« BackInjured Fisherman successfully airlifted from trawler off Kerry coast

Valentia Coastguard Radio Station have successfully co-ordinated the rescue of an injured fisherman from a fishing trawler off the Kerry coast.


A call was received at 9:30 this morning to request a med-ivac from an Irish fishing trawler 130 miles west of Valentia Island.

Two helicopters were involved in the rescue.

Rescue 115 from Shannon evacuated the man while Rescue 117 from Waterford provided top cover.

The man was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick just before 2pm this afternoon.
