Liz Shanahan, Global Chair of the Irish International Business Network and Co-Chair of Irish for Europe, says, while she is disappointed with the result of the referendum, the impact will not be felt for some time.
The Castleisland native says the strength of the Sterling against the Euro may affect the numbers of tourists visiting Ireland, but in the coming weeks, the markets should stabilise.
She adds there is no need for panic, as the expected timeline for the UK to leave the EU may be up to three years away.
