It’s reported several members of the Irish Farmers Association’s full time management executive are on basic salaries of more than 160 thousand euro a year.
The figures are contained in the Irish Independent ahead of the publication of a review of pay at the IFA by economist Con Lucey. The review was carried out following the resignation of General Secretary Pat Smith over his controversial salary of around 500 thousand euro a year and his subsequent severance package of two million euro. IFA President Eddie Downey resigned over the issue as well. Mr Lucey’s report will be given to the IFA national executive later today.
News Editor with the Irish Farmers Journal Patrick Donohoe says the report may not contain specifics.
