« BackICU bed found for critically ill Tralee teenager

A critically ill teenager is being transferred this evening from hospital in Tralee to an intensive care unit in Cork.

Yesterday, the family of 18-year-old Breda Kevane made a public appeal on behalf of the young woman who has special needs.

Breda has been in an induced coma at University Hospital, Kerry and is awaiting urgent surgery on her airways to save her life.

PaddyHer brother Paddy made an appeal on social and broadcast media because she needed to be transferred to an ICU bed in Cork or Limerick as no such facilities are available in Kerry.

However, there were problems finding an ICU bed for Breda.

Paddy was given assurances earlier today that Breda would be moved to the intensive care unit at Cork University Hospital.
