Kerry General Hospital says there has been no impact on services as a result of an oil spillage.
Investigations into the spill are continuing. Yesterday morning strong odours were reported to the Health Service Executive by ambulance staff based in the ambulance centre on the grounds of Kerry General Hospital. The two rooms affected in the ambulance centre were evacuated and arrangements were made for the necessary specialists to attend on site to assess the issue and identify the source. These investigations are ongoing and the HSE says it is hopeful for an early resolution. The HSE also says there has been no requirement to disperse ambulances and the ambulance service remains unaffected. Paramedic staff who were evacuated from the ambulance base yesterday will return there today. Administrative staff have already returned to base.
