« BackHSE apologises unreservedly after death of baby in Portlaoise

The HSE has apologised unreservedly after a report into the death of a baby in the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise found significant failures in care provided to him and his mother.

Baby Joshua Keyes died shortly after he was born at the hospital on October 28th 2009.
His case was one of four deaths at the maternity unit there, highlighted by an RTE programme.
Today’s report was published at the request of his parents.
