The HSE says it is continuing to engage with private and other interests on the potential use of the old Dingle Community Hospital.
Since the facility closed in 2010, a number of expressions of interest have been forthcoming but none has yet come to fruition.
In response to a Dáil question from Brendan Griffin TD, Health minister Leo Varadkar said the HSE has engaged locally on the potential use of the old hospital building.
It has also engaged with the private sector with the view to a sale.
The HSE and Udarás na Gaeltachta are to meet to discuss the matter in the coming weeks.
