« BackHSA investigation into Thomond Bridge tragedy will determine if Garda investigation is required

The results of a HSA investigation into the tragedy in Limerick last Saturday which claimed the life of Castleisland man TJ O’Herlihy will determine whether a Garda investigation will be launched.
Mr O’Herlihy and his co-worker Clare man Bryan Whelan died when the metal cage platform they were working on as they carried out repairs to Thomond Bridge plunged in the river Shannon. A candlelit vigil organised by Limerick women Maureen Joyce and Breda Davis to show support for the families involved in the tragedy will take place near Thomond Bridge at 8.30pm this Saturday. Funeral mass for TJ O’Herlihy will take place this Friday at 11 o’clock in Castleisland Parish Church, followed by burial in Kilbanivane Cemetery.
