« BackHousing Crisis hitting domestic violence charity in Kerry

Adapt KerryThe housing crisis is playing a role in the surge of women seeking help from Adapt in Kerry.

Adapt women’s refuge in Tralee has had to refuse accommodation to an unprecedented number of families in 2015.

There has been a 40% increase in the use of outreach services run by Adapt this year and also a 10 to15% increase in numbers using the refuge in Tralee.

The surge in those using the outreach service comes on top of a 20% increase last year.

Adapt manager Annamarie Foley says if they had the resources and capacity they would be helping many more families who need help in Kerry.
