It’s hoped that the future of a Kenmare business that announced its closure last month will be secured.
Radio Kerry News understands that Kenmare Select has acquired two investors who will take over the fish business.
On August 3rd, Kenmare Select announced it was to cease trading with immediate effect.
However, the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation says the company has been fulfilling customer orders since the announcement.
The company, which specialises in smoked salmon and other fish products, employs more than 20 full-time and 40 part-time and seasonal workers.
Radio Kerry News understands that one investor is examining the company’s assets and accounts at present and that a decision will be made at the end of this week. Another investor is also in the wings.
The process of appointing a provisional liquidator is also taking place at the moment.
However, there’s cautious optimism that the business’s future will be secured.
