The Office of Public Works is continuing repairs at an historic mid-Kerry castle.
A long-term programme of renovations to Ballymalis Castle near Beaufort are continuing the OPW says.
Scaffolding has surrounded the 16th century structure for many months and the work is expected to continue for some time yet.
The OPW says it is removing inappropriate cement and concrete from the structure as well as working on structural issues on the castle’s west and north elevations.
Ballymalis Castle is located on the banks of the River Laune just off the main Killarney-Killorglin road.
