« BackHIQA publishes guide promoting people’s decision-making abilities

The Health Information and Quality Authority has published a guide promoting people’s decision-making rights.

The guide is to help adult health and social care professionals to support the rights of service users, in particular vulnerable people in their care.

It includes areas such as assigning an advocate to act on a person’s behalf and a complaints procedure for those who feel their wishes are not being taken into consideration.
