There was a high rate of self-harm by men living in Kerry last year.
That’s according to figures from the National Self-Harm Registry.
They show that there was a slight increase nationally in the numbers intentionally harming themselves during 2015.
There were almost 11,200 presentations for self-harm at hospitals last year involving 8,800 patients.
The figures show that the high rates of self-harm were recorded in the main cities in both genders, particularly in Cork and Limerick; high rates of self-harm were also recorded for men living in Kerry.
