« BackGull attack on swimmer in Fenit described as unprecedented

The Water Safety Officer with Kerry County Council says he has never before heard of a swimmer being attacked by a seagull.

The bird swooped on the man – believed to be a visitor to the area – and returned a second time.

Medical attention was needed and lifeguards recommended the man go to Kerry General Hospital for a tetanus shot.
