« BackGovernment should support community shops in rural areas says Ireland South MEP

The Government should support community shops in rural Ireland.
That’s according to Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune who says people shouldn’t have to drive six miles “to pick up bread and milk”.
Many shops in rural areas closed due to intensive price competition from large multiples – and government led incentives should be put in place to allow communities to re-open those shops, the Fine Gael MEP said.
MEP Clune is also supporting the inclusion of a Minister for Rural Affairs at cabinet level in the next Government.
