« BackGardai urge caution following night of heavy rain in Kerry

Gardaí are warning motorists to exercise extreme caution, after a night of heavy rainfall on Kerry’s roads.
Most roads around the county are passable, but surface water may cause problems, and anyone driving this morning is advised to allow plenty of time to get to their destination.
Gardai in Listowel are asking motorists to avoid the Dromkeen area of Causeway, where the road is badly flooded.
A car became stuck in the water about a mile from the village near the GAA pitch.
In Tralee, Gardai are warning of a lot of surface water in the area around the bypass between the Castlemaine Roundabout and the roundabout at Ballygarry House Hotel.
The road is passable, but motorists are asked to drive slowly in the area.
Meanwhile, the N70 at Gleensk, Kells  was down to single lane of traffic following a minor landside yesterday evening.
A status Orange rainfall warning for Kerry remains in place until midday.
