Gardai around the county are reporting that roads are passable after yesterday’s heavy rainfall.
Tralee gardai say you may drive on the main Castlemaine-Tralee road which was closed for a number of hours yesterday but to very careful.
Killarney, Listowel and Cahersiveen gardai say they’ve received no reports of flooded roads.
However, they’re warning people to drive extremely carefully particularly on potholes and that there’s still surface debris on roads.
Kerry County Council is also advising motorists to exercise caution on the roads as there may be isolated locations of debris or spot flooding where flood waters breached their banks. The local authority’s also asked everyone to exercise care near flowing waters as it may take some time for river levels to reduce, particularly if there is further rainfall over the weekend.
