Gardaí are continuing to appeal for information in the search for a man who went missing 25 years ago in south Kerry.

Charles Brooke Pickard

Charles Brooke Pickard was 43 years of age when he was abducted at White Strand in Castlecove on the 26th of April 1991, and driven away in his van by a number of men.

The site being excavated by Gardaí at Derrennageeha, Ballaghisheen Pass is less than a kilometre away from where Mr Brooke Pickard’s navy Ford Transit van was found 20 days after he went missing.

Superintendent Flor Murphy says their recent appeal for information from the public, along with work by the Garda Serious Crime Review Team have resulted in today’s search, which is expected to last a week.
