« BackGardai appeal for witnesses following death of motorcyclist in Ballyheigue crash

Garda are appealing for witnesses to a road crash near Ballyheigue last night, which claimed the life of a local man.
The motorcyclist, in his mid 30s, was killed in a single vehicle crash, at around 7 o’clock. Gardai say, it appears the deceased lost control of his motorcycle and crashed at a grotto just outside the village.

He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 7pm and a post-mortem examination will be carried out today at University Hospital Kerry.

The Tralee to Ballyheigue road, which was closed overnight following the accident, has since been re-opened.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released but it’s believed he was local.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, is asked to contact Listowel Gardai on 068 50820.
