Gardai in Kenmare are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in a laneway in the town.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, was discovered shortly after midnight in the Davitt’s Place area of the town.
His body has been removed to Kerry General Hospital, where a post mortem will be carried out later today.
A Garda spokesman said the deceased may have suffered a fall, but the investigation is at an early stage.
The scene at Davitt’s lane has been closed off until the results of the post mortem are available.
