A convicted sex offender who is being sought by Gardai was last seen in west Limerick.
Gardaí at Henry St in Limerick are seeking the whereabouts of Pakistani national Mian Mujahid Ali Shahid, following a request from the UK police. It is believed the 19-year-old travelled to Ireland from Scotland earlier this year and was last seen in Foynes, Co Limerick on August 11. Mian Shahid was convicted in his absence at Stafford Crown Court on April 13th of two counts of sexual assault on an 18-year-old woman. On May 20th, also in his absence, he was sentenced to 30 months in prison. Following the receipt of a European arrest warrant, Gardai have carried out extensive inquires but have failed to establish his whereabouts. However, they believe he is still in this jurisdiction. Gardai are appealing to Mian Shadid to contact them. They are also appealing to the driver of a car in which Mian Shadid was a passenger travelling in the Foynes area to contact them.
