« BackFurther inspections to be carried out on two Kerry bridges following audit

A principal inspection will be carried out on two small single arch bridges on the N86 in need of closer examination.

Cllr Michael Cahill

It follows a national audit carried out on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland to identify bridges that may be in need of repair.
Almost 60 Kerry bridges were inspected as part of the audit but no significant cause for concern was found in most cases.
The report found no damage or deterioration of the Laune Bridge in Killorglin but Kerry County Council has put a monitoring regime in place, following bridge strengthening works in 2010.
Independent councillor Michael Cahill had requested a report on the findings of the assessment.
