Four million euro has been earmarked for Kerry County Council to help repair damage caused by recent winter storms.
It’s part of a national announcement of 85 million euro unveiled by Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe.
This money is being provided to carry out urgent repair works immediately.
In addition Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Irish Rail are to receive eight million euro each.
Minister Paschal Donohoe says the package includes a focus on local and regional roads.
Kerry’s allocation of four million euro follows an application to the Department of Transport for 6.87 million euro to repair storm damage from the past couple of months.
The Department is continuing to consider an application from the local authority for 7.3 million euro for preventative measures.
Kerry Labour TD Arthur J Spring and Kerry County Council have welcomed the funding.
