« BackFour Men From Diocese Of Kerry Studying For Priesthood In Maynooth

diocese-of-kerry-parishesThere are four men from the Diocese of Kerry studying for the priesthood in Maynooth.

The seminary is at the centre of controversy since the Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin said he wouldn’t send trainees there amid allegations of a gay subculture.

Seminarians in Maynooth have been accused of using the gay dating app Grindr – in contravention of the church’s teachings on celibacy and homosexuality.

The Association of Catholic Priests says the seminary has become the focus of unfair attention, and says the rumours are being driven by an anti-Maynooth agenda.

The Diocese of Kerry is not making a statement on the matter, other than to clarify that four men from the Diocese are studying for the priesthood there.
