Kerry Mountain Rescue Team were involved in bringing four children who had become stuck on a ledge to safety last night.
The children ranging from around 8 to their mid-teens were out walking with their parents.
The family, who are tourists, were out walking on Hungry Hill on the Beara Peninsula when the four children became stuck on a small ledge near a waterfall.
The alarm was raised at the Castletownbere Coast Guard Unit was tasked to the scene.
The unit contacted Kerry Mountain Rescue Team around 11.30pm to help in getting the family down off the mountain.
They were hoisted by the Coast Guard to a larger ledge further up the crag before Kerry Mountain Rescue Team helped them to lower ground.
20 members of the mountain rescue team were involved and the operation concluded at 5 o’clock this morning.
