A former Taoiseach has described the late John O’Leary as a great friend and a hard worker.
The 82 year old former Kerry South TD and minister of State died yesterday morning. He served as a deputy for Kerry South for 31 years. He will be laid to rest in Aghadoe Cemetery, Killarney after requiem mass on Thursday at 10.30am. Brian Cowen first met John O’Leary when his father was a TD and were later firm friends when he became a TD himself. Mr Cowen says John O’Leary gave him good advice and kept a fatherly eye on him. He said John was a true man of the people:
