A 52-year-old woman accused of 12 counts of theft from her former employers will not have a criminal conviction if she makes a €1,250 donation to the court poor box.
Mary Walsh of Rea, Kilmorna, Listowel, pleaded guilty to the offences at Dunnes Stores at the Horan Centre, Tralee on dates between July 4th and July 21st, 2015.
Her solicitor Pat Mann told Tralee District Court the retailer was at a loss of €885.
Mrs Walsh held a senior position and the thefts occurred when she used to be locking up at night. She was detected on CCTV.
The court heard Mrs Walsh’s husband had taken a case against the retailer over an alleged workplace accident, but this was later withdrawn.
He had been out of work for 11 months and had considerable medical costs arising out of the incident.
Judge James O’Connor adjourned the matter until the November 26th sitting of the court.
